Major Release
2008-04-17 00:58
Wow, that was a big release! And it seems that in the first 24 hours, the response has been overwhelmingly positive! If you haven't gotten it yet, download the new version. It is miles ahead of the last one.

The next release...
2008-03-28 19:36
...is gonna be HUGE! Couple of features: Vocals! General Design Change, we are moving away from RB Mega-optimization! Less lag! Fleshed out menus (for SM2.0 too!) And many more improvements and bug fixes. When, you ask? Depends. Hopefully next weekend but I have no qualms holding it back another week. Simple answer: "When it's ready"

Unsigned going to Maker Faire
2008-03-13 23:19
Unsigned is going to be at the Maker Faire in San Mateo, California in May. We expect to see our community grow exponentially, and couldn't be happier.

Pseudo-Release
2008-03-10 07:10
I know about 1/8th or so of the user base has had trouble running the game. We have now released v1.0.3.51D for those folks. Originally this was just there to help pinpoint problems, but it seems to also act as a miracle cure for at least one user. We have also seen the first release of venuecompiler. I hope to see many custom venues start flooding the forums. This program is, however, rough not just around the edges. And finally, chart2unsigned is getting better than ever. We just added a new level of debugging so you can get some extra output to help identify problems. We have also, hopefully, fixed a bug that stopped songs before they were over. So, with all that taken care of, I hope you all continue to enjoy Unsigned, as we will see some pretty cool improvements in the coming weeks.

chart2unsigned release & hosting info
2008-03-05 14:22
There is a good chance for a chart2unsigned release tonight. As always, no promises, and if it isn't out by midnight EST, its not coming out tonight. Also, since we do have our own domain up, we should soon have file hosting for Unsigned SongData files and Custom Venues. We WILL NOT host copyrighted song audio.

New Forums
2008-03-03 23:35
We got a real website! The site isn't up yet, but the forums are. Check em out, as the old forums are now dead. http://www.unsigned-game.com/forums/index.php

Stable Release
2008-03-03 16:04
We just had a new release that is much more stable than the previous releases. Many minor improvements have been made, but the big ones are as follows: It should run on any PC that meets the minimum requirements now. That's right, no more ghost crash! Our utility "chart2unsigned" has gone through some revamps and now the community song market is in full swing! Check out our forums to get some songs! We kicked the XACT bucket. Now we support Ogg Vorbis files and don't need that crazy stuff to get songs in game. Copy, Paste, Play!

ShaderModel 2.0
2008-02-24 11:37
I am happy to announce Unsigned is now ShaderModel 2.0 compatible. For those of you running Shader Model 2.0, please open the config.cfg file and set 3dbackgrounds to 0 Eventually we will have 3d SM2.0 support For those of you who missed the news, I am sorry about the missed release last night. I am having FTP issues. If they are not resolved by tonight (2/24/08), I will release to a generic File-Hosting Site. Also, for those of you who have not heard, check out our new (albeit temporary) forums. This is our "acting website" until we migrate to a new, fully fledged site.

Release & Compatibility
2008-02-22 18:33
I have been going through a lot of forums recently, most noticeably the FoF boards and the ScoreHero boards. I didn't really realize how much of a shockwave my project was making! It seems the gamers want a few things from my project and I started this as a community-driven project from the start. Tomorrow, (Saturday 23rd February 2008) at midnight EST, I will release a binary version of Unsigned. This means you guys won't have to go through what is being described as the "painful" process of using the SVN any more. This version will support our native Unsigned format for songs. It has a converter from FeedBack's ".chart" file that will convert to guitar and bass (but still needs considerable testing). It will feature local multiplayer for guitar, bass, and drums. I have heard what the gamers want with this project and here are a few things I plan to deliver on in the future: -Full-Compatibility with all formats (GuitarZero, FoF, FeedBack, and MIDI) natively! (The game will load them right up) -Higher resolution notes that don't look dull (this is a surprisingly popular complaint) -Compatibility for lesser machines, including a 2D version Once I get those goals, I will work on getting some online multiplayer working… then maybe get those rockers animated. Oh yeah, and add vocals (but dammit, I wont look forward to that nightmare!). There is one catch though. For me to justify pouring all of my time into this, I need a strong community. I need people to start writing song notations.

Multiplayer
2008-02-20 05:52
I have been asked about it and it is coming soon! At least the Local Multiplayer is, but online multiplayer isn't far off!

Dynamic Lighting!
2008-02-18 10:18
We now have dynamic lighting implemented in Unsigned! Check out the rockin strobe lights!
